How Billing Works
Alius uses Shopify Managed Pricing, which means:- You manage your subscription directly through Shopify — not inside the app.
- Billing appears on your regular Shopify invoice.
- No credit card is entered into Alius. Shopify handles all payment processing.
Upgrading to Pro
- Open Alius and go to the Home page.
- In the Current Plan section, click “Manage Plan”.
- You’ll be taken to Shopify’s pricing page for Alius.
- Select the Pro plan and confirm.
- Your Pro plan is active immediately upon approval.
Downgrading to Free
- Click “Manage Plan” on the Home page.
- On Shopify’s pricing page, switch to the Free plan.
- Shopify defers the downgrade until the end of your current billing cycle.
Pending Downgrade Notice
If you’ve requested a downgrade but still have Pro days remaining, the Home page shows a warning banner:⚠️ Your Pro plan has been cancelled and will switch to the Free plan on [date]. Until then, you retain full Pro access.
Trigger Limit Enforcement
Trigger limits are enforced at three levels for maximum reliability:| Layer | What Happens |
|---|---|
| UI | The “Create Trigger” button is disabled and a warning banner is shown. |
| Route Action | The server rejects the form submission with an error message. |
| Service Layer | The createTrigger() function throws an error if the limit is exceeded. |
